Please take special note of the unfortunate cancellation of the BarCap: CV and Application Workshop and the extension of the application deadline for the BarCap: Female Focussed Afternoon Tea.
BarCap: 'It's Your Questiontime' Presentation & Networking Evening
20th October (Week 2 - Tuesday)
Time: 18:30
Venue: Clarendon Building, Martin Wood Lecture Theatre
Followed by a reception at the Natural History Museum
"No doubt you’ve heard a lot about investment banking in the news recently. But what’s the reality behind all the headlines? This special event is your chance to discover for yourself. You’ll be able to put your own questions to a panel of people from across our business and get the answers you need about working in one of the most demanding, most fast paced and dynamic industries around. The evening will commence with a panel discussion and will be followed by a networking session with drinks and canapés giving you the opportunity to chat informally with representatives from Barclays Capital ranging from recent graduates to senior members of the firm."

Back To Black: An Impossible Problem?

"Tough times are golden opportunities for reinventing a company’s performance, and determined, highly-intelligent engineering graduates can be just the people to show the way. Stroud and Company, in association with OUEngSoc, would like to invite you to a light-hearted, general interest lecture that will show how a young team were able to bring a company back from the brink of bankruptcy by solving some “impossible” technical problems. The lecture will be given by Andy Redfern, Partner of Stroud and Company, and a buffet lunch will be provided. It is open to all OUEngSoc members. If you want to see how the engineering mindset can bring companies from loss to profit in a matter of months, then you must attend this lecture."

The deadline to apply for this event has been extended to 9am on the Friday 23rd October. Female society members wishing to apply should send their CV to with “Oxford Afternoon Tea” in the subject line. This will be a great chance for you to meet with BarCap representatives in an informal environment.
