What We Do We have a long and established track record of delivering complex projects within budget and to programme. Our experience is extensive, covering the commercial, residential, retail, leisure, educational, health and transportation sectors of the market, to name just a few. Projects range from large new-build developments to complicated refurbishments of listed buildings and smaller pavilions. We are thus confident in working with a wide range of methods and materials including structural steel and other metals, concrete, structural timber, alloys, masonry, plastics, glass, composites and tensile fabrics. We have a passion for transmitting ideas from academia into professional practice, resulting in teaching positions at some of the world’s most prestigious academic institutions including Harvard University and the Architectural Association’s Design Research Laboratory.
Our Philosophy and Culture Fundamental to our company and team structures is the belief in a design-led approach; design is by its very nature curious, iterative and subject to refinement and improvement if it is to be successful. On each project all members of the engineering team are encouraged to adopt a proactive attitude toward solving problems both within and outside our specific areas of responsibility, for the civil and structural aspects of the project. We firmly believe that good design need not cost the earth. Our office encourages diversity in all forms; at last count we had people representing over 20 different nationalities, and the ability to communicate in over 30 languages. This diversity not only culturally enriches our workplace, but also provides an openness to embrace a variety of approaches. We want our staff to be inspired not just by the quality of the projects we continue to win, but by maintaining a healthy balance between work and play, with sports teams competing in leagues and competitions, and social events held throughout the year. |
